George Remembers

One day, while I was fishing in Duck Lake, a sheriff patrol boat came along side of my boat, as I wondered what misdeed I was about to be ticketed for.

Instead, it was my neighbor, Carl Pearce, inviting me to a forthcoming Kiwanis meeting. I went, liked the club, and soon joined.  [George joined the Kiwanis Club in 1998.]

My first project was raking leaves at the Women's Resource Center.  Over the years, I secured volunteers for the NMC Barbeque, chaired the Community Service Comittee, and, most recently, secured volunteers for the State Theater.

Kiwanis is a great organization.
