The Kiwanis Club of Traverse City with many other community groups help with the Annual Northwestern Michigan College BBQ which raises much needed scholarship dollars for the College and its students. Patrick Kolody provides these pictures from the 2001 effort. In the decade of 2010, the BBQ is serving some 10,000 meals to scholarship supporters.

2001 Radio Auction
Patrick Kolody provides some pictures from the 2001 Kiwanis Radio Auction, For many years the radio auction was the main fundraiser of the Club. One of the members working for a radio station provided the day long air time, a listing of hundreds of items would appear in the Record Eagle, and on the appointed day people would phone in their bids. A tremendous amount of work yielded a lot of fellowship, good will with the community, and the funds needed for our community service.

Kiwanis Club of TC Celebrates 90 Years of Service!
Happy Birthday
Kiwanis!
Our club celebrated 90 years of service on December 2, 2014. We are almost as old as the original club in Detroit, who celebrated their 100 years of service in 2014 too. Check out The Detroit Kiwanis celebratory video here. Our club was chartered on November 26, 1924.
Our club had a great celebration with many members showing up to join in the party and eat cake.
We even had the Immediate Past Governor of the Michigan District, Stan Nelson and Greg Smith, the current Executive Director of the Michigan District congratulate us in person at the party.
Stan Nelson
Greg Smith
An electronic scrapbook of 90 years was created by Dave Eitland for our members to log their memories. You can read about our history here. Many members at the party recalled their early days with the club too.
Liz Sayre-King, 2014 Club President, contributed "happy dollars" for the privilege of letting members know of her time with TC Kiwanis. Clare Burns, 1985 Club President and 2008 Michigan District Governor, has collected the dollars at this Club for years. Also pictured is Micheal Hall, long time club member and 2006 Club President, Secretary, all around great guy, etc.
